Patches

boy with eye patch

Eye patches are used to strengthen muscle control in weak eyes. By placing a patch over the strong eye, the weaker eye is forced to do the heavy lifting. While it may be uncomfortable for the patient at first, the muscle controlling the weaker eye will become tougher and more resilient. This will allow the individual to control its movement. When removed after therapy, the person should be able to move both eyes in an organized fashion so that they work together and not against one another.

Reviews From Our Satisfied Patients

  • "Mac Donald Eye Care is a great practice! Dr. Mac Donald is so caring and professional--a really good eye doctor and good person. I come to her practice from McLean, passing many other offices to come to the best!"
    Kathy V. - Arlington, VA
  • "We took our twin 14-year-old sons to MacDonald Eye Care based on the excellent reviews here and elsewhere. The reviews are on the mark. Dr. MacDonald and her staff are very friendly and very patient. They really could not be nicer. Dr. MacDonald took her time fitting contact lenses for the boys and made sure they were comfortable putting them in and taking them out before leaving her office. Very highly recommended!"
